The will

That was a fair evening with soothing sunlight finding its way to the earth through cool clouds lingering above. As a daily practice, the gentlemen of ten years and so far the uncrowned kings of the five streets (kids don't venture beyond five streets. That's what I believe) where each street lie parallel to every other came out to the roads to practice their daily routine, playing. Today they are going to play their and my favourite hide and seek. Well, Hide and seek is the game of finding naughty  little kids from their hiding by their sweet loving parent or a group of mischievous fellows by a daring officer. The former is played by babies with their parents with smile all over their face, the smile which says that they are happy and grateful to be born to this world 'cause they know thinking of hiding something sweet to their parents that means them the world and the latter by the younger cubs. After school and obviously in their holidays, this has been one of their evening exercise. They go from home to home calling for their friends like a crow calling to its flock to join the mock. They go in groups or alone, stand in front of the gates and call out the names. If the call is not answered, they pass the gate and again shout the names now standing in front of the door. Now if the door is ajar, they peep inside looking for their friend like a rat peeping from its nest. If nothing came, they frown over that friend until out of his home and forgets it instantly on seeing another. If the culprit was found inside writing his work, he won't be let alone easily. They get to him like a new pup to its pack and nags him to come along, say that he is essential and so on or just drags him out if there is no one in. If there are sufficient people, then it's playtime. If at loss, then they wander through the streets finding other games to spend time. They gather in groups on the streets, counting the number of heads present, thinking of winning, thinking of having fun together, to completely cherish their togetherness, to cherish a being as same as them. If everything looks perfect, then without a second waste, they start to play though there may occur some delays due to the call from the parents to occupy them with some small shopping work or some scolding for what they had done in the school or some days before trying to hide something naughty. If someone leaves due to the above reasons, then they will be frowned upon. But that won't matter anymore since they are now in the streets. It's now the time to find who is going to be the strict officer who picks out the thieves from their hiding. But be alert, if any of the thief ventures into the station while the officer is absent then he may free all of this mates from their imprisonment. So the officer should be always be aware of the situation in his station. That tough is the job of an officer. He should find out the thieves and also keep a look over his station. So he is put in a position to plan out his moves carefully. Since this is a tough, brain-pricking job no one would want to play this role. But be remembered, even a rat will become a raven if it has to play it's part. So even a weeny whiny cub will become a fully grown cat after assuming it's position, in this case a kid becomes a gaudy officer. The police is then selected by using some witty techniques that is employed only by the kids. Then the courageous officer gives the thieves a chance to try their luck by counting from one to fifty or hundred (depends on the generosity of the officer). Those who fail to find their hideouts may get caught immediately, depending on the luck. Those who are hidden wait for their chance to ruin the station so the officer has to replenish the station and has to start again. On that day, one of the luckiest boy got the role to play the officer. On the count, everybody found their place to hide and were completely hidden.
Let's see where the players were. The station looked like a lamp post. It was a lamp post. Most lamp posts become station where there are children. They convert anything into anything that is convenient for them. Now as said earlier the officer gives sometime for the thieves to hide. And to show his pride he closes his eyes not to know even the path they took to hide. That was the courage of the officer. Now the cunning thieves would not want to give even a single chance of knowing where they are. They choose their places carefully. They take the chance given by the officer and find places that are that are hidden to the plain sight. Only a witted officer can find them. They hide inside thick bushes, climbs upon the trees to hide from sight, some simply lay down on the grassy floor along the sides of the roads where the roads are levelled up than the ground. And yes those roads are not like highways. They are simple roads which are traversed by means of walk, cycles and seldomly by bikes. Those roads belong to such colony. They squeeze themselves in gaps between two houses. They use walls between houses as the path to traverse between hiding places. Yes, they shift their places if they find them not safe. But no place is safe if the officer is determined and witty. It's not allowed there to hide inside their houses. But anywhere is ok. If any place is unoccupied by anyone else then they can hide there. Even a home that was constructed but unoccupied could become their hiding place and thieves like dark and damp places like that. But venturing alone inside the den of thieves is dangerous even for a daring officer. So in those cases two or more officers would be employed to take care of the thieves. There were cases when thieves are all determined to destroy the station. So they come as a mob to attack the station. A single officer against those many, not a chance even for a good officer. This happens when they don't go well with the officer or when they want the same officer to hunt for them forever. But this does not happen often. Because the thieves know that today's thief is to be the tomorrow's police. Yes, even the convicted are given chances. That day as many were present fortunately, it was decided that enough force must be employed to stop the thieves. So three police officers were set for the duty to catch about twelve whose lurking lair spanned across three streets of twelve houses length. That's a tough job but if enough will and wits are employed nought is tough. Suddenly the thieves were underhanded, getting caught unable to escape the dominant hands of the valiant officers. Though they were thieves they stole for the sake of the others, those who were oppressed by poverty. They were kind-hearted and good souled. They were as same as the one who reigned merrily in the forests of Yorkshire, a noble and a novel heart of a peerless man if the tales are real, The Robinhood, the king of the crew which never laid their men and the men who hoped down. So there came a situation where only a little of thieves to be arrested. There were two young fellow, one being younger than the other being like a brother of the other, who were consistently thinking of saving their friends from this pinch. Both were ready to make a desperate attempt to relieve out from this situation. But the elder said stop and made a desperate run to save their mates from the end of the road which was of twelve houses length. He tried to catch the officer off-guard who was away from his station, the others being away to catch the missing ones and release his friends  from his hold but alas he was seen before his last leap towards the station and the vigilant officer reached the station first and caught the brave one. Then they captured everyone succeeding in their attempt. This nostalgia occured in the mind of the young officer, who one day was a thief, on seeing the same friend taking charge before every others when confronted on the borders with gun in his hand, will in his heart and smile on his face.
